Curator's tour
The curators of the exhibition "In Motion – Art & Football", Carina Bammesberger and Janine Horstmann, guide visitors through the immersive exhibition following a thematic introduction. After the joint viewing of the show, visitors can explore additional elements of the exhibition, including the context lounge, the studio table, and the digital gallery."In Motion – Art & Football" is a multimedia spatial installation at the German Football Museum, presented on the occasion of the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany. This exhibition showcases European art that depicts football in all its facets—both on and off the field. The exhibition delves into the interplay between football and its artistic representation, offering new dimensions for both football fans and art enthusiasts. In 16 chapters, selected artworks trace the journey from the original essence of the game through complex gameplay scenarios to the influences of war and social upheavals. These turning points introduce new perspectives and characters, reshaping the myth of football. The exhibition illustrates how external and internal influences have transformed the sport, making its original innocence scarcely recognizable. Ultimately, it is up to the viewers to decide how football is perceived.
The tour is conducted in German.
